As the Atlantean's first solo movie inches closer to its release date, Warner Bros. is pulling out all the stops in promoting Aquaman. The studio is now taking to the very crowded streets of New York, where star Jason Momoa went with Arthur Curry’s signature trident in tow.
The star was in Times Square among a throng of unsuspecting people when he was captured on Twitter raising his trident and delivering his trademark battle cry.

Aquaman will, however, face an uphill climb upon release. The movie will open against Bumblebee and Mary Poppins Returns, which are expected to do quite well upon their release. According to Deadline, current projections estimate Aquaman will bring in around $100 million's over its first five days. However, the movie is expected to hold strong through the holiday season. Warner Bros.' plan to sell Amazon Prime members early access may be paying off, as they've already sold between 65% and 70% of available tickets.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna. The film opens on December 21.
