Aquaman may have been the most anticipated movie at last week’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, but there were at least two DC fans who needed some persuading: Jason Momoa’s kids.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aquaman star Jason Momoa explained that, despite his appearance in Justice League and the press he’s receiving for playing the reluctant Atlantean king, neither of his children were particularly impressed. His daughter, after all, prefers Wonder Woman, while his son is more of a Batman fan.

After sneaking his kids a look at the new trailer, however, the tides may have finally turned in his favor.

“They were supposed to go to bed at nine. They ended up going to bed at 11, and they were just beating me up,” Momoa explained. “I have this picture of my son, who taped sticks together and made his own trident. It's amazing.”

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Dolph Lundgren as Nereus. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Dec. 21.
