Aquaman star Jason Momoa recently reached out to his super-fan Danny for a surprise chat about his love of dolphins, and to tell him he's a "beautiful boy."

Momoa was inspired to reach out to Danny after a news clip on Boston's WBZ-TV showed the boy's delight when receiving an Aquaman figurine during his family's holiday photoshoot. Seven-year-old Danny has been suffering from Pineoblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer, for the past four years. Momoa shared a clip of their conversation on his Instagram.

Momoa captioned the video with the following, "So I just wanted to say thank you to the community, friends and family on Instagram for reaching out and showing me this beautiful boy Danny who is going through chemo and has cancer. I saw his video online that made me want to get in touch and FaceTime him and spend some time talking to him. In the video chat, Danny tells Momoa he needs to tell him something "very important." His news is, "I love dolphins." Momoa asked if he ever road one before as he did, to which the boy replies, "I've never seen one." Momoa tells him that we'll have to change that and seemingly promises a future Oceanic adventure between the two of them sometime soon.

Momoa is known for starring as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe film, Aquaman. He will reprise his role as the underwater superhero in Zack Snyder's Justice League, set to air on HBO Max in 2021.

Aquaman was directed by James Wan and opened to widespread critical acclaim from both critics and audiences alike. The film grossed $1.14 billion on a budget of approximately $200 million. Momoa will appear as Aquaman in its sequel Aquaman 2Although its plot details are scarce, its director James Wan did confirm that this film will add in some horror elements, unlike its predecessor.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman 2 stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 16, 2022.
