Aquaman star Jason Momoa will host NBC's Saturday Night Live on Dec. 8, two weeks before his Warner Bros. film arrives in theaters nationwide.

Momoa is part of  December lineup that also boasts The Crown star Claire Foy, who makes her hosting debut on Dec. 1, and the returning Matt Damon on Dec. 15.

Joining Momoa in his SNL debut are musical guest Mumford & Sons, making their third appearance on the show.

Given Saturday Night Live has a long history of superhero skits, most notably "Superhero Party," the famous "Superman Funeral" with Sinbad as Black Lightning, fans should probably expect the show to lampoon Aquaman in some way. Or, with such credits as Game of Thrones and Baywatch, it's possible Momoa will take aim at some of those roles.
