A new fan film pits two of the most iconic slasher villains of all time against each other: Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees and Halloween's Michael Myers.

The thirty-minute fan film, titled Michael vs. Jason: Evil Emerges, comes from YouTuber Radical Talent. "A short fan film we did with no budget," the description reads. "Literally no budget. Nothing was raised, no kick-starters. nothing. We used everything we had at the time and worked with what we could. Don't expect this to be a mind blowing $25 million budget movie. It was just me, my family and few mates that put this together." Despite being a low-budget effort, the film features some pretty intense violence.

The two franchises remain beloved among horror fans. With 11 Halloween films and 12 Friday the 13th films, there's a lot of content already out there for horror hounds to sink their teeth into. The idea of pitting Jason and Michael was floated around, and a comic called Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash was put out as a comic. However, a potential crossover film between Halloween and Friday the 13th went nowhere.

While a sequel to the recent Halloween reboot is being written, the legal rights battle surrounding Friday the 13th makes the future of that franchise uncertain.

Now available on home media, Halloween is directed by David Gordon Green from a script written with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak, with Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney sharing the role of Michael Myers. The film is executive produced and scored by John Carpenter.
