Jason Bourne Spinoff Treadstone's First Trailer Wakes More Sleeper Agents

The first trailer for TV series Treadstone has been released, showcasing the Jason Bourne spinoff.

USA revealed the trailer on its YouTube channel. The series will focus on a group of sleeper agents still in the wild and the titular organization who created and now monitors them.

Treadstone was ordered to series by USA last August, so it has moved pretty fast to hit its October 2019 release date. The show will star Sense8's Brian J. Smith along with Jeremy Irvine, Michelle Forbes, Omar Metwally, Tracy Ifeachor, Han Hyo-joo, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Michael Gaston, Shruti Haasan and Emilia Schüle.

Based on the popular series of books and films, Treadstone will be the first foray into television for the franchise. After the original trilogy of movies did well critically and commercially, a quasi-reboot focused on a character played by Jeremy Renner and a fourth film that saw the return of Matt Damon didn't quite have the intended impact. But with prestige action-dramas doing well on television, the new medium could be the right fit.
