Earlier this year, Arrested Development executive producer Brian Grazer teased a possible fifth season, stating they were "close" to working out deals to bring the Bluths back for a fifth season on Netflix. And now, it appears as though an official announcement could be right around the corner, with star Jason Bateman revealing he's signed on to return as Michael Bluth.

The actor tweeted the news Friday, suggesting production could begin as early as this summer.

Look very probable I'm going to put some miles on the Stair Car this summer. Just officially signed on to more ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT today.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed a writers' room is already open and working on the fifth fifth season. However, it's worth noting that there have been no announcements from the rest of the cast.

Arrested Development originally aired from 2003 to 2006, where it garnered a cult following and critical acclaim but struggled with ratings.  The comedy, about a once-wealthy dysfunctional family that's fallen on hard times, was revived in 2013 for a 10-episode fourth season on Netflix. There's been talk of additional episodes ever since.

The series stars Jason Bateman, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor, Tony Hale, Will Arnett, Jessica Walter, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi and Alia Shawkat. No release date has been announced for Arrested Development's fifth season.
