From Clown Prince of Crime to Living Vampire: Jared Leto is apparently making the jump from one comic book universe to the other.

Deadline reports that the Suicide Squad and Blade Runner: 2049 actor is being looked at by Sony to star in the studios' upcoming Spider-Man spinoff film Morbius.

The studio already has a director lined up for the film in Daniel Espinosa, who helmed Sony's sci-fi thriller, Life. The script was written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the minds behind Netflix's Lost in Space revival, and is set to position the Spider-Man villain as an antihero, much like Tom Hardy's Venom, another Spider-Man spinoff film which is slated for release October 4.

Jared Leto most famously brought the Joker to life in the DC Extended Universe movie Suicide Squad. It was recently reported that the actor was set to receive his own Joker-led spinoff film, although we haven't heard more about the project since. It remains to be seen if Leto joining the Spider-Man film universe will impede his role in the DCEU, or if he is being setup to team-up with Hardy's Venom further down the road.
