Earlier today, the Marvel fandom was left utterly surprised by the announcement that Suicide Squad actor Jared Leto was set to star in Sony's Spider-Man spinoff film, Morbius. But if there was any doubt that the project wasn't official, Jared Leto put those worries to rest by celebrating his role as the Living Vampire.

The actor shared an image of the character on his Instagram page, along with the simple caption of a black heart. This is essentially all the confirmation we need on the actor's part to let us know that the project is truly happening, and that Leto is truly enamored with the role.

It's also possible that Leto gave us a possible hint as to the movie's direction. The image the actor shared is actually the cover of the 2012 Marvel NOW! series Morbius: The Living Vampire by Joe Keatinge and Richard Elson. The series saw the Spider-Man villain escape from prison and seek redemption in the crime-ridden streets of Brownsville.

With the film set to explore the character as an antihero instead of a villain, it's entirely possible that this comic book series served as inspiration for Sony's Morbius movie.
