A trailer has arrived for "I Am a Hero," the live-action adaptation of the apocalyptic horror manga by Kengo Hanazawa.

The story follows Hideo Suzuki, a struggling manga artist assistant with low self-esteem, who's world is shattered by the outbreak of a disease that transforms people into homicidal maniacs determined to devour anyone near them. Armed with a shotgun, Hideo runs for his life, meeting strangers along the way.

Serialized in Japan since 2009, the manga will debut next year in the United States from Dark Horse.

Directed by Shinsuke Sato, "I Am a Hero" opens April 23 in Japan.
