While fans are still guessing as to who lived and who died when Thanos snapped half the galaxy out of existence at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, we can add one more name to the survivors' list: Jane Foster.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo previously avoided commenting on whether Thor's ex-girlfriend survived the snap, and stated that it was delving into spoiler territory too much, but Brandon T. Snider's prose novel, Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest Volume Two: Aftermath confirmed that she is indeed alive.

As Nerdist pointed out, the novel sees Jane reunite with her science pals and Thor cast mates, Dr. Selvig and Darcy, to try to figure out what caused half of Earth's population to disappear and form an unofficial team of "Science Avengers." This would come as good news for the Odinson, since the Russo brothers recently revealed that Thanos killed half of the Asgardians at the start of Infinity War, and wiped out another half with his infamous snap.

While Jane Foster wielded Thor's hammer Mjolnir as a new Thor in comics for the last few years, it's not clear if she'll follow a similar path in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It remains to be seen if Snider's novel will lead to Jane and Thor reconnecting, which is something fans haven't seen since Thor: The Dark World. It's also unclear if she'll have a role in Avengers 4 and how she might help Thor undo the Mad Titan's cosmic genocide.

Brandon T. Snider's Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest Volume Two: Aftermath is on sale now.
