‘Jane Eyre’ Director Helming Two-Part ‘It’ Adaptation

Stephen King’s It has been the source of many nightmares since its 1986 debut, but Jane Eyre director Cary Fukunaga is looking to fuel a few more with a new adaptation for Warner Bros.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is moving forward with Fukunaga directing and co-writing along with Chase Palmer. Last year, Fukunaga’s name was attached to the new adaptation of one of King’s largest works.

It revolves around seven kids dubbed the Losers Club who see a shape-shifting monster in the form of a clown named Pennywise do some terrible things in the 1950s and again, when they’re adults in the mid-1980s. John Ritter, Annette O’Toole, Richard Thomas, Tim Reid and Tim Curry starred in a TV movie version that aired in 1990 on ABC.
