The Aquaman marketing machine is in full swing now that Comic-Con International in San Diego is just around the corner. Following a trailer tease from the movie's director James Wan, yesterday also saw the arrival of the first official poster from the underwater superhero film.

But like with everything related to a comic book movie, some fans found things to question and complain about. One of those complaints came via Twitter, when a fan pointed out that he couldn't understand why Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry was seen wearing leather pants underwater on the one-sheet. However, Wan quickly answered with an obvious explanation: "Because he's Jason Foockin' Momoa!!!" the director tweeted. "You want him wearing swimming trunks?"

Actor Jason Momoa has brought his own style and flair to the character of Arthur Curry, as fans saw in the Justice League film. Wan's Aquaman is set to follow in these footsteps, while bringing the character towards his destiny, to the throne of Atlantis. Of course, Momoa's Arthur may start the film wearing leather pants, but it won't be long before he slips back into his regal Atlantean armor.

The first trailer for Aquaman is set to premiere at SDCC 2018 this Saturday.
