James Purefoy to Play Serial Killer in Kevin Williamson's Fox Thriller

Kevin Williamson's Fox serial-killer pilot has tracked down its antagonist, with Deadline reporting that Rome alum James Purefoy will go head to head with Kevin Bacon in the untitled thriller.

Purefoy, who next appears in Disney's John Carter, will play a diabolical serial killer who uses the Internet and other technology to create his own cult of killers. Bacon will star as a retired FBI profiler drawn into his web.

Marcos Siega (Dexter, The Vampire Diaries) is set to direct the pilot, written and executive produced by Williamson, who created Dawson's Creek and developed The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle.
