It turns out that -- surprise, surprise -- The Crow rumors surrounding James McAvoy might be just that -- rumors. After a report came out in February claiming McAvoy will take the lead in the recently revived adaptation, he has come forward to set the record straight.

"It’s not for real. I don’t think it’s materialized into anything truthful yet," he told Getty Images Entertainment. "It’s just been rumor mill stuff."

As for the long-rumored Wanted 2, McAvoy said, "They’re doing the right thing. They won’t go ahead with it unless they get a story that feel totally and utterly 100 per cent passionate about. If they don’t have that then frankly they shouldn’t go ahead. But if they get a story together that they feel that way about then great, yeah."

The Crow is now set up at Relativity Media to be directed by Before the Fall's F. Javier Gutierrez. Jesse Wigutow has written the script.
