Filmmaker James Gunn and Jennifer Holland, star of HBO Max's Peacemaker, have tied the knot.

Gunn and Holland announced their marriage on Instagram, sharing a series of photos from the ceremony, including the couple's custom-made Funko Pop! cake toppers. "After over 7 years together, I finally married the love of my life, [Jennifer Holland]," Gunn wrote. "What an incredible, beautiful, stunning day surrounded by the most wonderful family and friends in the world. And, yes, that’s a moose that showed up as the ceremony began! And also, yes, [Funko] made our wedding cake toppers designed on our actual tux and gown (Jenn wouldn’t let me see them before the wedding because her dress was too perfectly done!)."

The festivities also included a "Marvel vs DC softball game," as Gunn has directed films for both Marvel Studios and DC Films, with Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad) playing "on both teams."

Gunn and Holland Tie the Knot

Gunn is the creator, writer, director ad executive producer of Peacemaker, while Holland portrays Emilia Harcourt in the series. Gunn and Holland, who have been together since 2015, announced their engagement in February. Their first collaboration was on Brightburn in 2019, which co-starred Holland and was produced by Gunn. The two would go on to work together on The Suicide Squad in 2021, which was directed and written by Gunn and where Holland made her DC Extended Universe debut as Emilia Harcourt. She reprised the role in Season 1 of Peacemaker starring alongside John Cena's titular antihero.

The first season of Peacemaker consisted of eight episodes, with the first episode picking up directly after the events of The Suicide Squad. The HBO Max original series sees Cena's Christopher Smith drafted into an off-the-books mission known as Project Butterfly. He is joined by ARGUS agents Emilia Harcourt (Holland), John Economos (Steve Agee), Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji) and Leota Abedayo (Brooks), as well as Adrian Chase/Vigilante (Freddie Stroma).

Peacemaker's Season 1 finale became the best-performing episode for an HBO Max original series with the largest single-day performance on the streaming service. Peacemaker was renewed for a second season in February. "Creating Peacemaker has been one of the true highlights of my life, both professionally and otherwise, with John Cena and the incredible creative team around me, as well as our partners at HBO Max," Gunn said at the time. "To have something we all love so much be loved by the audience in turn has been a wonderful experience. I can’t wait for folks to see where Team Peacemaker goes in Season Two!"

Peacemaker Season 1 is available to stream on HBO Max.
