James Gunn Hangs With the Suicide Squad in New Photo

Not too long ago, writer/director of the upcoming DC film The Suicide Squad James Gunn shared an image with the names of those set to appear in the film. Just a few of the names included were John Cena, Taika Waititi, Idris Elba and Micheal Rooker.

Gunn recently shared a photo of himself with several cast members, along with the caption, "Hanging out with part of #TheSuicideSquad team this weekend. What a great group of people!"

Seen in the photo are Gunn, his brother Sean Gunn, Nathan Fillion, Flula Borg, Daniela Melchior, David Dastmalchian, Mayling Ng and Jennifer Holland.

There hasn't been an official word on what roles each cast member will be playing, though there have been several rumors, including that Dastmalchian would be playing Polka-Dot Man. Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Viola Davis will be reprising their roles from 2016's Suicide Squad.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters Aug. 6, 2021. Several cast members from 2016's Suicide Squad will reprise their roles, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Also joining the cast are David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Joaquin Cosio, Nathan Fillion, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Idris Elba and Michael Rooker.
