Mark Hamill in The Last Jedi

The prospect of seeing Mark Hamill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has just gotten a little closer to reality. Over the weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn met with the legendary Star Wars actor for a friendly barbecue.

On Sunday, the Marvel director posted a picture of himself being hosted by Hamill on his Instagram page. During the initial conversation, Gunn and Hamill exchanged pleasantries after a fan suggested the director hire the Star Wars actor for a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Both seemed open to the idea, and they ended their exchange by leaving all fans hanging at the idea of the two of them meeting. Now here we are three months later, and the two celebrities have finally found the time to meet in person.

While the two more than likely just spent some quality time under the sun, we can't help but wonder if the two discussed the next installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. After all, James Gunn did reference the original exchange in the caption of his Instagram post. Is there any chance that the two found the perfect role for Hamill? Only time will tell.
