Who Is Superman's Super Son, Jon Kent?

Even though he was not announced as part of Superman: Legacy or the DCU's upcoming first chapter, "Gods & Monsters," Gunn's statement appears to shoot down hopes that Jon Kent will be in the DCU's near future. Jon is the biological, superpowered son of Superman and his wife, Lois Lane, and was created by writer-artist Dan Jurgens in 2015. Debunking that a son of Superman will appear in Legacy is not the first time Gunn has cleared up rumors and reports regarding the movie, being that he clarified that the new DCU Superman will be younger than 40 years old following reports he would be around 25.

One Super Son will appear in the DCU though: Robin Damian Wayne. While Superman: Legacy will spotlight the Man of Steel, The Brave and the Bold is another film focusing on Batman Bruce Wayne, drawing inspiration from writer Grant Morrison's run with the Dark Knight. Because of this, Gunn has confirmed that Damian will appear in the movie, saying the biological son of Bruce Wayne is his favorite Robin and that The Brave and the Bold is "the beginning of sort of the Bat-Family in the DCU."

Who Will Join the DCU Moving Forward?

Who else from the Bat-Family and Superman Family will be in the DCU remains to be seen. Fans know that Supergirl will be a player on the big screen though, since she will star in the movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow inspired by writer Tom King and artist Bilquis Evely's comic series of the same name. Gunn has also teased other fan-favorite characters joining the DCU, commenting on two different lists that half of their rosters may appear in projects. The one hero to overlap both lists is Nightwing Dick Grayson, a core member of the Bat-Family with close ties to both Bruce and Damian.

Superman: Legacy is slated to release in theaters July 11, 2025.
