Jack Is Back

Based on the novels and characters created by Tom Clancy, Prime Video's Jack Ryan is created by Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland. The show follows the eponymous CIA analyst (Krasinski), who works as a desk jockey before being abruptly yanked into the field. Krasinski is the fifth person to play the character of Jack Ryan in live-action, following Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine.

Jack Ryan premiered the entirety of its eight-episode first season on Prime Video on Aug. 31, 2018. The show returned for an eight-episode second season on Oct. 31, 2019. In February 2019, several months before Season 2 dropped, Prime Video renewed Jack Ryan for Season 3. In October 2021, the streamer ordered a fourth season of the spy series.

This past May, Deadline reported that Jack Ryan Season 4 would be the show's last. That said, the outlet also reported that while Prime Video's Jack Ryan is nearing its end, a potential spinoff series starring Michael Peña as Domingo "Ding" Chavez (another character from Clancy's Jack Ryan universe) is in development at Amazon Studios, Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television. Peña is expected to make a guest appearance as Ding Chavez in Jack Ryan Season 3 before serving as a main cast member in Season 4. Whether the character's planned spinoff will come to fruition remains to be seen.
