Lee Childs' Jack Reacher novel series boasts 17 installments with one more on the way by the end of this year. The series will also get its first film adaptation on Dec. 21st, this one based on the 2005 novel One Shot. Called simply Jack Reacher, the film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and stars Tom Cruise as the title character, both of whom worked together on 2008's Valkyrie.
Reacher is a former cop and military man who prefers his own brand of justice. Jack Reacher also stars Robert Duvall, Rosamund Pike and Richard Jenkins.
