Jack Reacher officially has found his new home on Amazon Prime Video, with a television adaptation receiving a full season production order from Amazon Studios.

Developed for television by Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break), Amazon acquired the license to Lee Child's bestselling novel series this past July. Santora will serve as the first season's head writer, executive producer and showrunner, with the adaptation co-produced by Skydance Television and Paramount, who also work with Amazon on the popular Jack Ryan television series. The first season will reportedly adapt the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor, with Child himself also serving as an executive producer.

"Lee Child has created an incredible character and world; it will be the goal of every writer, producer, actor, executive and crew member to capture the essence of Mr. Child’s books - and luckily Lee has been there, and will continue to be there, to help guide us along the way in this series. He is the pulse of Reacher," declared Santora in a written statement.

The bestselling novel series follows a former U.S. Army officer who works as a problem solver and fixer. The novel series was adapted into two films starring Tom Cruise as the character, and the films' screenwriter and producer Christopher McQuarrie will produce the upcoming Amazon series.

"It’s been great so far, but really, the fun starts here," promised Child. "By now I know these guys, and Reacher is in the perfect hands, believe me."

Based on the novel series by Lee Child, Jack Reacher is developed for television by Nick Santora. No premiere date or main cast has been announced by Amazon.
