iZombie Enters a Grave New World in Final Season Poster

In exactly two weeks, iZombie returns for its final season on The CW and the network has released the first poster for the Vertigo Comics adaptation's fifth season.

Showing star Rose McIver as the undead protagonist Liv Moore riding the Seattle light rail while reading a newspaper, the black and white image, with red accents, teases a new world with undead activists trying to fight to zombie rights in a world that hates and fears them.

The previous season ended with a stalemate between zombies and the federal government on the shipment of human brains to New Seattle. While that might sound ghoulish, it's worth noting that the undead requiring regular consumption of brains to retain their humanity and stave off their ravenous hunger.

Judging by the poster for the upcoming season, tension between the living and undead communities has not yet abated.

Based on the Vertigo comic book series by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred of the same name, iZombie was developed for television by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright. The series stars Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin and Rahul Kohli. It will return on The CW for its fifth and final season on Thursday, May 2.
