The upcoming fifth season of iZombie will be the last for the offbeat comedy-drama. The news arrives less than a week after the show's renewal, buried in The CW's newly released 2018-2019 programming schedule.

Loosely adapted from the Vertigo comic of the same name, by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, iZombie centers on Olivia "Liv" Moore (Rose McIver), an over-achieving medical resident whose life was upended when she was transformed into a zombie while attending a party. Discovering that she needs to periodically feast on brains, or else devolve into a stereotypical zombie, Liv takes a job at the morgue, and eats the brains of corpses. But whenever she eats the brain of a dead person, she temporarily inherits some of their traits and skills, and experiences flashbacks from their lives -- which often include clues to their murders.

The Season 4 finale of iZombie airs Monday, May 28, on The CW.
