ItsJustSomeRandomGuy producing promotional videos for the New York Comic Con

Official Press Release

Norwalk, CT, February 29, 2008: Late last week a tirade by a Doctor Doom action figure appeared on YouTube.com. One week later, it has already been viewed over 21,000 times and been ranked one of YouTube's Top 20 Comedy videos. The video is the work of Michael Agrusso, better known to the world by his YouTube username -- ItsJustSomeRandomGuy. ItsJustSomeRandomGuy is the creator of the internationally known Marvel vs. DC series of YouTube videos -- a play on Apple's Mac vs. PC commercials starring toys of comic book institutions Marvel and DC's most famous characters -- and is now collaborating with New York Comic Con to produce a series of three videos promoting New York Comic Con 2008, taking place April 18-20 in the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.

"New York Comic Con is a place created by and for artists, and we're never happier than when NYCC serves as a platform to display someone's talents," Show Manager Lance Fensterman said. "We're pleased to be working with ItsJustSomeRandomGuy and excited to have his humor and intelligence add to the experience of New York Comic Con 2008."

Convention officials note that while ItsJustSomeRandomGuy's video has been added to newyorkcomiccon.com, more than any promotion NYCC is directly giving it, the video is being posted around MySpace, LiveJournal, Facebook and personal blogs. Fans are taking it and sending it back and forth. ItsJustSomeRandomGuy is a genuine internet superstar.

"I'd like to thank everyone who watches my videos," ItsJustSomeRandomGuy said. "I wouldn't be here -- I really, really wouldn't be -- if it wasn't for all of you."

ItsJustSomeRandomGuy's original Marvel vs. DC video first appeared on YouTube on March 6, 2007 and has since gone on to receive over 2,500,000 hits. Following the success of this first video, ItsJustSomeRandomGuy -- along with partner Brinna Li (known to YouTube as ItsJustSomeRandomGal) -- created a series of films all patterned on the Mac vs. PC commercials with Spider-Man representing the Marvel or Mac side and Superman representing DC or PC. These videos have been featured on YouTube's main page, garnered attention from prominent media including MSN.com, AOL.com, Entertainment Weekly, and G4, and even won him a following from many inside Marvel and DC including Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. He's recently expanded the videos into Marvel/DC: After Hours, a serial with an ongoing narrative. Marvel/DC: After Hours's first season has wrapped and a second season, Marvel/DC: Happy Hour, is in the works.

Two more NYCC videos are planned and will premiere on ItsJustSomeRandomGuy's YouTube Channel in the coming weeks.
