Although the sequel to the hit 2013 caper thriller “Now You See Me” won’t materialize for another year, Lionsgate has already begun “early planning” on a third installment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, studio CEO Jon Feltheimer made the announcement this morning in an earnings call with analysts in which he predicted “Now You See Me: The Second Act” will gross more than the original film’s $351.7 million global haul.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, the sequel will see returning stars Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman joined by newcomers Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan and Jay Chou as the master illusionists return to work for a one-time enemy.
“Now You See Me: The Second Act” opens June 10, 2016.
