Through a post on Instagram, It: Chapter 2 director Andy Muschietti shared an image from the upcoming film that features James McAvoy as the adult version of Bill Denbrough.
Along with the image, Muschietti said, "And a happy belated birthday to the great [James McAvoy] who will thrust his f-f-fists against anything that moves in September 6."
In It: Chapter 1, the younger version of Bill Denbrough was played by Jaeden Lieberher, who has also appeared in The Book of Henry, Midnight Special and The Confirmation. Since filming has wrapped on It: Chapter 2, fans are hoping a teaser trailer will arrive soon.
It: Chapter 2 is the sequel 2017's It: Chapter 1, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. Muschietti, who directed the first film, returned to direct the sequel. Before It: Chapter 1, Muschietti directed the horror film, Mama, which was executive produced by Guillermo del Toro.
It: Chapter 2 stars Bill Skarsgård, James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Jay Ryan, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Teach Grant, Jess Weixler, Will Beinbrink, Xavier Dolan, Jaden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff and Nicholas Hamilton. The film is scheduled to be released on September 6.
