Principal photography on It: Chapter 2 has officially wrapped as revealed by returning director Andy Muschietti.
Muschietti shared an Instagram post over the weekend showing him receiving a bloody hug from star Jessica Chastain in a behind-the-scenes photo celebrating the end of filming.
Covered from head to toe in fake blood, Chastain's performance as an adult Beverly Marsh promises to be an epic one as the character returns to her hometown of Derry, Maine to confront the monstrous Pennywise one last time.
Filming on the sequel to last year's acclaimed Stephen King adaptation It began in June with a new cast portraying the adult incarnations of the misfit characters from the first film assembled on set in Ontario. Like the latter half of the classic 1986 horror novel, the sequel has the childhood friends return to face the supernatural monster from their youth when it reappears decades later to prey on children once again.
Judging by Chastain's appearance, the adult Losers are going to have their work cut out for them.
Directed by Andy Muschietti, It: Chapter 2 stars Bill Skarsgård, James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Jay Ryan, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Teach Grant, Jess Weixler, Will Beinbrink, Xavier Dolan, Jaden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, and Nicholas Hamilton. The film is scheduled for release on September 6, 2019.
