The second film in the It franchise has wrapped filming. Director Andy Muschietti posted a photo on Instagram expressing his excitement at having finished the second film, which releases next year. Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, who played Ritchie in the first film, also posted a selfie of him and his fellow kid actors.
It's second film will take place 40 years after the events of the original movie. Having believed they defeated Pennywise, the now-adult members of the Losers Club return to Derry, Maine to finish the job. The first film's kid-actors will return via flashbacks, and Bill Skarsgard is back to play Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
It: Chapter Two will be one of many Stephen King books coming to the silver screen in the near future. Pet Sematary will release next year, along with Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining. Sematary recently received a terrifying trailer of its own.
It: Chapter Two releases Sept. 6. The film stars James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Jessica Chastain, Jay Ryan, Isiah Mustafa, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Teach Grant, and Bill Skarsgard.
