Mere days after purported character details surfaced for "Rogue One," the "Star Wars" saga may have sprung another leak.
Warning: Potential story and title details lie ahead for "Star Wars: Episode VIII," so turn back if you don't want anything spoiled.
"Star Wars: Fall of the Resistance."
It certainly follows the pattern of the original trilogy: Just as "A New Hope" (yes, we know some of you refuse to call it that) was followed by "The Empire Strikes Back," "The Force Awakens" gives way to "Fall of the Resistance." Of course, that it hews so close to the "Star Wars" formula may be reason enough to cast doubt on the title.
That said, we can likely expect the Resistance to suffer a significant setback in the second part of the trilogy -- y'know, beyond the loss of Han Solo and the destruction of several planets. It's highly unlikely the good guys keep on winning, and the film's called "Star Wars: The First Order Suffers Another Humiliating Defeat."
However, it seems like an awfully significant leak, nearly two months away from Stars Wars Celebration Europe, even for a production that hasn't kept as tight of a lid on the mystery box that J.J. Abrams did. So make of it what you will.
"Star Wars: Episode VII," or whatever it's called, opens Dec. 15, 2017.
