French actress Marion Cotillard may be poised to reunite with Inception director Christopher Nolan and co-stars Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Caine in The Dark Knight Rises.
News of her casting first appeared over the weekend in the French newspaper Le Figaro, and has since has been picked up by other outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, which received word from Cotillard's representative that she is "in discussions, but nothing has been confirmed yet."
With Anne Hathaway cast last month as Selina Kyle, the trade paper contends Nolan turned his attention to finding a romantic lead for Christian Bale, a role "suspected" to be that of Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ra's al Ghul (played in Batman Begins by Liam Neeson).
The plan is for 35-year-old actress, who's pregnant and due in May, to begin shooting in mid-June in London before moving to Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and finally, in November, to New York City. Cotillard, who won an Academy Award for best actress for La Vie en Rose, has also appeared in Public Enemies, Nine and Big Fish.
