Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon, or DanMachi, is a popular anime that has just returned to the air this month. Unlike the previous seasons which were only 12 episodes each, the fourth is set to be around double that amount, split into two separate cours.

As such, the first part is essentially a season of its own with a lot of content. Due to this, it might be a bit hard to remember everything that happened leading up to the start of the second cour, but hopefully, this guide will help recover those memories.

Bell's Party Is Still in the Dungeon

After being assigned an expedition quest directly from the Guild, the Hestia Familia set out into the Dungeon. Unlike the last few seasons where a lot if not most of the story took place in Orario outside the Dungeon, almost the entire season took place within it. The party they entered the Dungeon with consisted of the entire Hestia Familia, Ouka and Chigusa from the Takemikazuchi Familia, Daphne and Cassandra from the Miach Familia and Aisha, who was formerly a member of the Ishtar Familia but now is part of Hermes'.

Their quest tasked them with reaching the Water Palace within the Dungeon on its 25th-27th floors to gather materials. After they completed the quest, they decided to stay longer and explore deeper but got caught up in a plan by the remnants of the Evilus organization to frame their frequent companion, Ryuu Lion, for murder. As such, the party then went on to try and save Ryuu before things got worse, but unfortunately, in the process of doing so, Bell and Ryuu became separated from the rest of the party.

Bell and Ryuu Are Being Hunted In The White Palace

DanMachi (Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon) Juggernaut finds Bell and Ryuu

Due to the actions of Evilus, the Irregular monster known as the Juggernaut was spawned in the Dungeon and proceeded to kill every adventurer it saw. As such, Bell and Ryuu were forced to fight it, and while it seemed at times that things might have been looking up for them both, they were ultimately beaten within an inch of their lives by the monster. They only managed to escape it due to another monster swallowing them whole in a surprise attack and burrowing deeper into the Dungeon.

The monster managed to dig as far down as the 37th Floor, also known as the White Palace due to the white coloring of everything there, before dying. As the first part of the Deep Floors, the monsters found here are much stronger than the ones Bell was used to fighting. To make matters worse, not only were both Bell and Ryuu severely wounded, but the Juggernaut was also following them down the tunnel, still in hot pursuit. Quite frankly, things couldn't have been worse.

The Rest of the Hestia Familia Are Being Attacked By Amphisbaena

DanMachi (Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon) Amphisbaena

If the Dungeon trying to kill Bell and Ryuu with the Juggernaut wasn't bad enough, the Floor Boss for the Water Palace floors spawned right after the other monster did. What made this so strange is that it wasn't set to appear for another two weeks, making its sudden appearance the worst kind of surprise. Worse still, it went straight after the Hestia Familia as soon as it arrived, almost as though the Dungeon was targeting all members and associates of the Hestia Familia.

In even more bad news, the party was lacking its strongest member and leader, Bell, putting them at a huge disadvantage in this situation. Even with Aisha there to support them, the party lacked much of its original strength facing a Floor Boss ranked as a Level 6 threat. Both Bell and his party will be in very bad situations at the start of the second half of this season, but hopefully, both groups will find a way to survive the Dungeon.
