Following his star-making turn in 12 Years a Slave, Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor is reportedly being eyed for a lead role in the next James Bond film.

According to TheWrap, Ejiofor is the frontrunner to play the villain in Bond 24, the untitled follow-up to 2012's Skyfall. There's no official offer on the table for the actor, and he's not in formal talks, but he's considered the lead candidate.

Specifics about the Bond villain are unknown, but details on two of the film's new leading ladies have come to light. TheWrap reports that casting is under way for a new Bond girl, as well as "a Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond."

The next Bond movie arrives on Nov. 6, 2015.
