Tony Stark is known for his intellect, the Iron Man suit, and for being able to spout some of the most quippy, savage one-liners around. From his first appearance on screen in the MCU in the first Iron Man all the way through to Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark has been making audiences laugh with his sarcasm and wit.

He’s smart and quick, and he uses his humor as a weapon. Some of the most quotable lines from the entire MCU come from Tony Stark, and it’s hard to pick just a handful of the best. We’ve narrowed down the list, however, to give you ten of Tony Stark's most savage one-liners throughout the MCU.

10 10. “BETTER CLENCH UP, LEGOLAS.”

If there’s one thing Tony is good at, it’s making astute, hilarious remarks on the appearances of others around him. Most of the time it’s down good-naturedly, like with this quote directed at Hawkeye.

Tony is also great with the pop culture references, and he often makes quips that nod to real-life pop culture, making for meta moments that fans love. Some of his best savage liens come from his interactions with the other Avengers as is the case here.

9 9. “I TOLD YOU. I DON’T WANT TO JOIN YOUR SUPER SECRET BOY BAND.”

In the Iron Man trilogy, fans get to see more about the struggles that Tony deals with and his personality. These movies do a good job of exploring Tony’s issues with mental health and trauma. But, even when dealing with serious topics, Tony still has witty lines to dish out.

This is clearly a way he deals with things that stress him out such as here when he talks to Nick Fury in the restaurant scene in Iron Man 2. Tony definitely has a way of making other people look like fools, and his humor can be pretty deprecating at times.

8 8. “DOTH MOTHER KNOW YOU WEARETH HER DRAPES?”

The first Avengers film brought together a lot of big personalities who had to learn to work together as a team. Of course, that didn’t go so smoothly at first. It was clear that Tony felt somewhat threatened by being put into this team operation as up until that point he had mostly acted alone.

This quote directed at Thor made audiences laugh as it gently poked fun at how Thor himself talked. Tony is great at imitation and mocking, and this is one of those hilarious moments where his wit shone through.

7 7. “IF THERE’S ONE THING I’VE PROVEN IT’S THAT YOU CAN COUNT ON ME TO PLEASURE MYSELF.”

Tony Stark isn’t necessarily a humble guy, and he uses humor as armor to protect himself from his own guilt and self-doubts. At the start of Iron Man 2, Tony is questioned by the government about the Iron Man suits and the danger this technology could pose if it got into the wrong hands.

Tony isn’t thrilled with this, of course, and he handles the hearing with the professionalism one might expect. While leaving the room, Tony leaves us all with this memorable line.

6 6. "GENIUS, BILLIONAIRE, PLAYBOY, PHILANTHROPIST."

Many of Tony’s most savage one-liners come from The Avengers. This makes sense as this was early on in Tony’s journey when he was still at his most immature.

This line is one of the most iconic and well-known Iron Man lines from the MCU and is one that many people still quote to this day. When Captain America asks what Tony is without the suit, he replies quickly. It’s hard to deny that Tony Stark has style and wit, even if his personality can get in his own way sometimes.

5 5. “GET LOST, SQUIDWARD.”

When we see Tony Stark at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War, it’s clear that he has come a long way from the man audiences were first introduced to in Iron Man. He’s engaged and seems to be much healthier and happier overall. Luckily, his wit and sarcasm never change.

When confronted by Cull Obsidian as he attacks New York, Tony says this line that mirrors what the audience was thinking. This is another great pop culture reference and also shows once again Tony’s ability to point out the ridiculous ways some of these comic book villains look.

4 4. “YOU’RE EMBARRASSING ME IN FRONT OF THE WIZARDS.”

The exchange between Tony and Bruce Banner at the start of Infinity War had fans laughing. When Bruce isn’t able to turn into the Hulk, Tony is not very impressed.

As Doctor Strange is another person with a rather big ego and has some personality similarities to Tony, it's no wonder that Tony didn’t want to be embarrassed in front of him. This is also another example of Tony using deprecating humor towards others around him.

3 3. “MAKE YOUR MOVE, REINDEER GAMES.”

This is another great Tony line from The Avengers. When Loki appears in this film, he is sporting quite the statement-making headpiece. With two golden horns that curl up and out, it’s no wonder Tony noticed that Loki was looking like a reindeer.

Given that Loki is a complete villain in this movie at least, seeing Tony make fun of his outfit choices was hilarious. Sadly, these two haven’t interacted much in the MCU, which is a shame since Tony could surely come up with some more savage lines about him.

2 2. “EVERYTHING SPECIAL ABOUT YOU CAME OUT OF A BOTTLE.”

The first time Captain America and Iron Man meet doesn’t go too well. The two argue and Iron Man accuses Cap of being nothing more than a science experiment.

This is one of the few times where Tony’s savage one-liners cross over a bit into being mean, but clearly, Captain America is a sore spot for him. Luckily, these two end up being friends at the end of Endgame, even if their relationship is rocky throughout the MCU.

1 1.“UGH, MR. ROGERS. I ALMOST FORGOT THAT THAT SUIT DID NOTHING FOR YOUR ASS.”

Avengers: Endgame was a rough movie for Tony Stark fans to say the least. Luckily, we got to have a couple of moments where Tony was able to be snarky and hilarious before Tony died saving the world.

This quote and the entire scene surrounding it has become internet famous. Fans loved this interaction. While we all know that Captain America’s ass always looks great, Tony is right that the 2012 suit didn’t do Cap any favors.
