A new game centered around Tony Stark's Iron Man is now in the works.Motive and Marvel Entertainment announced the new single-player, action-adventure title in a blog post today on Electronic Arts' website. "We're thrilled to share that an all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure Iron Man video game is now in early development at Montreal-based Motive Studio," the companies said. "The team is being led by Olivier Proulx, who brings experience working on past Marvel titles like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and is joined by a dedicated team of passionate industry veterans including Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier at the studio."RELATED: Marvel Scrapped an Open-World Iron Man Game From Just Cause Developer

Motive's Iron Man game features an original story, which the company teases "taps into the rich history of Iron Man" by "channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark" to give players a sense of what it would be like to embody the popular hero. Currently, the game is still in pre-production, with Motive still building its creative team for the project. The blog post also notes that the Iron Man title is the first of several in a multi-game partnership between Marvel and Electronic Arts, though it did not hint at what characters might feature in the other games.

Rumors of EA's Iron Man Game

Rumors of a collaboration between Marvel and Electronic Arts surfaced in June after game industry insider Nick Baker said he'd heard about such a partnership. However, he refused to say which character or team would feature in the game at the time. Later, Baker confirmed that the game he'd heard about centered around Iron Man after fellow insiders Jeff Grubb and Tom Henderson said they'd heard about EA's work on a Tony Stark-focused title.

More recently, Grubb reported on Twitter that the Iron Man game was under development with the same team as the upcoming Dead Space remake at Motive Studio. Grubb also noted that the rumored Black Panther game, also supposedly in the works with EA, would release sometime after Iron Man. It remains unclear which studio that game might be under, as opposing reports indicate it might be Monolith Productions, owned by Warner Bros., or with ex-Monolith VP Kevin Stephens' new studio and published by EA.

Motive Studio's Iron Man game currently has no release window.
