Marvel's Judgment Day sets Tony Stark on track to do battle with his very own armor.

A.X.E.: Avengers #1 by writer Kieron Gillen (Iron Man, Once & Future) and artist Federico Vicentini (Wolverine, Midnight Suns) will bring Iron Man face-to-face with various iterations of the iconic armor he has built over the years, and all of them are seemingly out for blood. This comes as part of the ongoing war between the Eternals and X-Men, the latter of whom has been besieged on all sides by the Prime Eternal Druig and his legions of loyal followers. All the while, Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been caught in the middle of the fray, with their best attempts to stave off further destruction so far having only resulted in humanity's latest ticking clock.

The events of A.X.E.: Judgment Day have come as the culmination of months of plotting on the part of Druig, who made eradicating mutant kind his top priority after usurping the title of Prime Eternal from his cousin Thanos. Apart from the near total annihilation of Planet Arakko at the hand of Uranos, the event has also seen the Eternals launch a horrifying weapon called the Hex in an attempt to lay waste to the X-Men and their ilk. In his latest bid to save the planet, Tony led the charge in bringing the Avengers' own former Celestial fortress back to life. Rather than forcing the Eternals to relinquish, however, the resurrected Celestial Progenitor has given humanity 24 hours to prove themselves worthy of survival, once again putting the Avengers on the back foot in terms of saving the world.
