WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Deadpool: Invisible Touch #5, now available on Marvel Unlimited.

Iron Man's yellow and red armor might be his most iconic armor but it is not necessarily his strongest. Deadpool's team up with Sue Storm continues as the duo faces off against a villain who they believe to be Doctor Doom while learning about Iron Man's newest armor.

Deadpool: Invisible Touch #5 (by Gerry Duggan, Lucas Werneck, Geoffo, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Joe Sabino) reveals that Tony Stark didn't design his most devious armor. The issue opens with Doctor Doom and the Spot facing off against Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four. After dispatching the Spot by way of a force-field created inside his head, Sue calmly asks Doom to hand over the drive that contains secret patents from both Tony Stark and her husband, Reed Richards. Right before they fight, Deadpool busted in through the wall, asking who sucker punched him last time. Before the issue came to blows, Doom lifted his mask to reveal that he was actually Tony Stark in a Doombot armor.

Stark revealed that when his hard drives was stolen, he had two options: spend an obscene amount of money to get it back through an illegal auction house or spend a little bit of money to hire Spot to steal it. He chose the latter option, also noting that it would be the most fun out of the two options. Stark continues by explaining that since Doom acquired and experimented on his armor in the past he considered it to only be fair for him to do the same. Sue leaves him with a stern warning about Doom's resourcefulness and points out the likelihood of the villain already knowing what the arrogant hero is up to.

Both Iron Man and Doctor Doom are best known for their iconic armors that allow them to duke it out with the heroes and villains of the Marvel universe. Since they're both genius armor-wearing multibillionaires, they've developed somewhat of a rivalry over the years. The two have been both allies and enemies at different times with Doctor Doom even taking over the role of Iron Man in Infamous Iron Man. Considering that Doom's armor is built from a combination of magic and technology, Sue may have been right in her assessment of Stark being in over his head. Considering how devious the villain has proven to be in the past, it is very probable that he is just letting Stark think that he hacked the armor but is secretly using it to spy on the Armored Avenger.

Considering Iron Man's constantly rotating arsenal of armors and his considerable wealth, it makes sense for the billionaire inventor to have acquired and reprogrammed one of Doom's trademark armors for his own use.

The Iron Doom armor is likely only one component of the chess game that Doom and Iron Man are playing with each other. With this in mind, the duo trying to outdo each other using hacked technology comes as no surprise.
