WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Daredevil #22 by Chip Zdarsky, Francesco Mobili, Victor Olazaba, Mattia Iacono and VC's Clayton Cowles, on sale now.

For nearly two years, Matt Murdock stopped being Daredevil after he accidentally killed a street criminal. After that, he swore that he'd become a better superhero -- and part of that lead to him taking on threats bigger than he ever faced before. Instead of fighting supervillains, Matt's fight has now turned to the rich and powerful Stromwyn twins, who had plans to control the real estate market of Hell's Kitchen.

Now, Matt has finally assumed the identity of Daredevil once again, coming to the belief that was God's plan for him all along. But this time around, he's intent on doing things the right way -- even if that means paying for his past crime. Recently, Matt surrendered himself to the police and now, he's awaiting trial for his accidental murder.

His lawyer believes he has a good chance of being cleared of the crime, but Matt isn't taking any chances. If he ends up in prison, then he needs to make sure Hell's Kitchen is taken care. And that is why he asks for Tony Stark's help in Daredevil #22.

Daredevil is Marvel's man without fear

In Daredevil #22, Foggy Nelson starts prepping for Matt's defense in his upcoming trial. However, Matt leaves before the work even begins because there is something else he needs to do. He sets up a meeting with Tony Stark at the docks and there, the two have a brief team-up to take down some low-level weapons smugglers. Once the criminals are dealt with, Tony suggests they continue their meeting at his penthouse.

Back at Tony's place, both superheroes are surrounded by bits and pieces of Iron Man armor of all shapes and sizes. It's clear that Stark is working on some new suits. Here, Daredevil reveals the purpose of their meeting: he would like Tony to challenge the Stromwyn's bid for Hell's Kitchen and buy the entire neighborhood. If he doesn't, hundreds of good people will lose their homes to the Stromwyn's aggressive takeover. But if Tony owns the real estate market instead, he will be able to give the buildings back to the people for a fraction of the cost.

It would cost Tony billions of dollars, but it would help the lives of many New York City residents. It takes bit of convincing, but eventually, Tony agrees to consider it.

Then, when that is done, talk turns to Daredevil's costume. Tony knows the Stromwyns, and he knows they're bad news. He explains that if Daredevil really intends on going after bigger enemies like them, he will need a major upgrade -- something he could build for him.

Matt doesn't give an answer yet, but the purposeful panel of the Iron Man helmet highlighted in Daredevil's signature radar sense, coupled with the cover of the issue -- which features a red Iron Man helmet with devil horns -- implies that Matt may very well take up Tony on his offer.

Stark has been keeping incredibly busy of late. Recently, he built an Iron Man armor for Mister Fantastic in the Empyre event. What's more, Black Widow even debuted her own War Machine-inspired armor in the Avengers title, the War Widow armor. And, on top of that, Tony recently permanently moved to New York, designing a new armor for himself in the process. And now, it looks like he's ready to help his fellow superhero out.
