As the end of the year draws near we also move close to Marvel's Iron Man 2020 event, which will see the return of Arno Stark as the one-time futuristic version of the armored Avenger, who first appeared back in 1984's Machine Man 2020. A new version of Arno Stark appeared in the present-day Iron Man titles, and the two will converge in Marvel's upcoming event.

One of the titles announced in the upcoming event is Force Works 2020, which features the return of Iron Man's superteam, which he formed out of the ashes of the West Coast Avengers. To celebrate the return of the obscure team in the event, we decided to take a look at a few of the most powerful members of the short-lived Force Works before Iron Man 2020 hits shelves.

10 CYBERMANCER

Suzi Endo's membership with the team as the tech-enhanced hero known as Cybermancer is somewhat questionable, as it was actually an evil version of herself from the future that had joined the team while Suzi recuperated in a coma at Force Works headquarters, the Works.

Her advanced suit featured an adamantium cybercloak and enhanced her speed and strength while equipping enough futuristic gadgets to keep Tony Stark drooling for hours. Suzi was also a brilliant cybernetics genius who was eventually chosen as the High Evolutionary's herald, the Seeker, though we are only considering her power level as Cybermancer.

9 MOCKINGBIRD

Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird hasn't played a large role in too many Marvel events over the last few decades on account of her death in the pages of West Coast Avengers, but the character returned in Secret Invasion and gained new popularity due to her appearances on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, played by Adrianne Palicki.

While not originally a member of Force Works, Bobbi's former West Coast Avengers membership and semi-recent upgrade thanks to Spider-Man makes her an interesting new addition to the team, though aside from her specialized gear and enhanced training, Mockingbird doesn't have any additional powers or abilities.

8 U.S. AGENT

Another character set to appear in live-action is John Walker/U.S. Agent, who will be played by Wyatt Russell on the upcoming Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. U.S. Agent began his career as a replacement Captain America before taking on his new name and has been a member of many teams, including the West Coast Avengers and Force Works.

Walker gained enhanced strength and durability due to experiments and is a highly trained soldier armed with a shield, which is sometimes made of vibranium and sometimes hard photons. While he's generally not as powerful as Captain America, he's far more brutal. U.S. Agent consistently holds his own on teams full of overpowered characters, which says a lot about his capabilities.

7 SPIDER-WOMAN

Spider-Woman II when she was a member of Marvel Comics' Force Works

There have been a few characters to use the name Spider-Woman, though only Julia Carpenter was a member of the West Coast Avengers and Force Works. Julia was actually given powers due to a shady experiment by the Commission on Superhuman Affairs, who felt they should have their own government-created superhero since Captain America wasn't really working with them.

Carpenter became the second Spider-Woman and developed powers similar to Spider-Man, though she had the additional ability to create psionic webbing that she could mentally control. Julia would eventually lose her sight and become the new clairvoyant Madame Web, though she was at her most powerful during her career as Spider-Woman.

6 CENTURY

The team welcomed a new member after Wonder Man sacrificed himself in the first issue, the amnesiac dimensional traveler known as Century. Fans would eventually learn that he was an alien implanted with the knowledge of 100 of his race's greatest warriors, and was bonded with his powerful battlestaff, Parallax (not that one).

Century was often used as transportation for Force Works when needed, though he was very effective in battle both with his battlestaff and heightened cosmic senses, though his connection to Parallax was also his biggest weakness, as separation from it resulted in the deterioration of his combined minds.

5 QUAKE

Daisy Johnson/Quake is another new member revealed by the cover of Force Works 2020, though she wasn't around when Force Works debuted in the 90s. Quake has been a member of a few other teams since her debut in Secret Warriors, though she largely worked with S.H.I.E.L.D., which raises the question of her involvement in the upcoming tie-in issue.

Quake learned she was the biological daughter of Calvin Zabo/Mr. Hyde and she inherited her powers from the genetic twisting of his own genes. Daisy is able to generate seismic vibrations in various forms, from intense earthquakes to micro-tremors that could explode someone's heart, and she is incredibly well-trained, making her a dangerous new addition to the team.

4 WAR MACHINE

War Machine worked alongside Force Works quite often throughout their series and his own, and would officially join the team after Iron Man left, though Jim "Rhodey" Rhodes would be wearing a much different version of his armor than the usual Stark-created version. His alien Eidolon Warwear suit didn't last long, so we'll be considering his usual Starktech power levels.

Most of Rhodey's War Machine armors all follow the same overpowered Iron Man design first created by Tony Stark. War Machine may contain more firepower than Iron Man's usual armors, but Tony still generally keeps the best stuff for himself. However, that still makes War Machine a walking tank that you definitely want on your side.

3 WONDER MAN

Wonder Man from Marvel Comics in a surge of power

Simon Williams began his Wonder Man career as a villain, though he soon became a loyal member of the Avengers and would go on to work alongside the West Coast Avengers and Force Works, though he ended up dying on the team's first mission. Of course, due to the ionic nature of Simon's abilities, Wonder Man never stays dead for long.

Wonder Man has incredible strength and durability that puts him on the same level of Thor, and his energy form increases his abilities even more, while also allowing him to project blasts of ionic energy. Oh, and there's the whole immortal thing we already mentioned, though he often requires outside intervention to reform his ionic body.

2 IRON MAN

Invincible Iron Man feature

Tony Stark/Iron Man was the founder of Force Works, who he created to operate differently than the previous Avengers team by taking a more pro-active and aggressive stance against their enemies. Stark wears the most advanced battle armor on the planet, which at this time was an improved version of his 90s modular armor.

What makes this version of Iron Man particularly dangerous is that he formed Force Works just prior to the controversial Crossing event, which revealed that Tony Stark (later retconned as a disguised Immortus) had been secretly working with Kang the Conqueror. This meant the Iron Man who was a member of Force Works was a much more villainous version of the character.

1 SCARLET WITCH

wanda-maximoff

Wanda Maximoff was technically the leader of Force Works, though Iron Man proved to not really be a team player on most missions. Regardless, Scarlet Witch's hex powers along with the team's  Chaos Computer helped Force Works proactively locate potential threats that would require their involvement.

Scarlet Witch is one overpowered mutant with a sketchy connection to the demonic Chthon that has tainted her abilities. While she wasn't exhibiting the reality-altering aspects of her powers at the time, she had previously turned into the Dark Scarlet Witch before joining Force Works, so the potential for the power to blink away any one of her teammates on a bad day was there.
