Iron Fist Stars Want a Heroes For Hire Spinoff: 'Let's Do It!'

WARNING: The following article contains minor spoilers for Marvel's Iron Fist Season 2, streaming now on Netflix.

From the moment in late 2013 that Marvel and Netflix announced an ambitious multi-show production deal, fans have clamored for a Heroes for Hire series, bringing together the classic duo of Luke Cage and Iron Fist, and Daughters of the Dragon, featuring Misty Knight and Colleen Wing. In the past year, audiences have been given tastes of those comic book combinations, first on The Defenders and then during the second season of Luke Cage.

The sophomore outing of Iron Fist further teased those possibilities, with Misty fostering Colleen's budding detective skills as they sought to find a missing Danny Rand, and then noting that "Knight-Wing" -- a nod to Nightwing Restorations, their detective agency in the comics -- has a nice ring to it. But while the events of Season 2 would seemingly rule out Heroes for Hire or Daughters of the Dragon in the immediate future, stars Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick are certainly open to the possibility.

Daughters of the Dragon

"Let’s do it! Let’s do it! I’m all for it," Jones told CBR. "I’d love to see a Heroes for Hire and Daughters to the Dragon team-up. I think it would be awesome to get all four of us together and do, you know, a miniseries or a full-blown series. I just want to see it happen, I’m fully behind it. We just have to convince Netflix to give it a go. The more your readers can shout about it and demand it from Netflix, hopefully that will persuade them to green-light a series, but from my end, I’d love to see that happen. I love working with those actors, I love the characters, and I would love to see what we could do with it."

Asked whether Iron Fist's second season helped to lay the foundation for a Daughters of the Dragon spinoff, Henwick replied, "I wish I knew, for my own sake. It could be, or maybe it was just a nice little Easter egg nod or reference for the fans; you can never tell. I love Misty and Colleen together, and I think anything which has the two of them in the same room is good in my book."

Available now on Netflix, Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Sacha Dhawan as Davos, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Simone Missick as Misty Knight and Alice Eve as Mary Walker.
