Producer/screenwriter M. Raven Metzner has signed a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios.

Under this deal, Metzner will develop new projects for broadcast, cable and streaming services. According to Deadline, he already has two series in the works for the forthcoming Disney+ platform.

Notably, Metzner has worked alongside ABC Studios before, serving as showrunner for Marvel's Iron Fist on Netflix. Metzner took over the show for its second season, replacing series creator Scott Buck, who served as showrunner for Iron Fist Season 1. Additionally, Metzner wrote Season 2's premiere, as well as its finale.

Metzner also worked as a writer and producer on ABC series What About Brian and Six Degrees, in addition to The CW's Life Is Wild, The Hub's Clue, TNT's Falling Skies, Fox's Sleepy Hollow and NBC's Heroes Reborn. Interestingly enough, years before working on Iron Fist, Metzner began his career as a professional writer on the 2005 Daredevil spinoff film Elektra.

Streaming now on Netflix, Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Sacha Dhawan as Davos, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, and Alice Eve as Mary Walker.
