As Netflix patiently waits for Iron Fist season 2, it turns out that the superhero show's sophomore year almost included Moon Knight.Fans know that Kevin Feige already has plans for Moon Knight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the studio president is currently keeping quiet on how he intends to introduce the hooded vigilante.RELATED:  Iron Fist’s Finn Jones Reveals Whether or Not Luke Cage Appears in Season 2Although Alice Eve is confirmed as the villainous Typhoid Mary for Season 2, she wasn't the only new character set to join the world of Danny Rand. Showrunner M. Raven Metzner confirmed that Marc Spector's alter ego came up in the writers' room.

Metzner also confessed that he "grew up" on Moon Knight and drew particular attention to Warren Ellis' run with the character.

It looks like Netflix won't launch any new shows based around Marvel's heroes, but the news suggests that some pretty big names could still pop up in the likes of Daredevil, The Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

Although Moon Knight is currently missing in action in the MCU, there is every chance that a third season of Iron Fist with Metzner at the helm could bring him into the fold.

The first season of Iron Fist came under fire, but as a new showrunner, Metzner hopes to take the series in a different direction. For many fans it's a shame that Moon Knight won't be part of Iron Fist (for now), but who knows what the future holds? Iron Fist Season 2 will stream on Netflix from September 7.
