“We are very excited to have an actress of Alice’s stature join the cast of ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist,’” Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb said in a statement to Variety. “Her exceptional talent brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else.”

Eve played Carol Marcus in 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness, and appeared in the third season of Netflix's Black Mirror.

Filming for Iron Fist Season 2 begins this month. Despite its negative critical response, the Netflix drama will move forward with a new showrunner, with Raven Metzner taking over from Scott Buck (Inhumans).

The series will presumably aim for release in late 2018 or early 2019, fitting in around the numerous other series in development. Jessica Jones Season 2 wrapped production a couple of months ago, Daredevil Season 3 began filming in November, and Luke Cage is in production.

Starring Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, Tom Pelphrey, Jessica Stroup, Sacha Dhawan, Simone Missick and more, Iron Fist Season 2 does not yet have a release date.
