Iron Fist, Nightfall, Thor: Aug 26th Comic Reel

As our pals at Spinoff Online reported yesterday, writer Rich Wilkes has been hired to bring Iron Fist to the screen. Let me repeat the last part … cough … “to bring Iron Fist to the screen.” Iron Fist. He’s coming to a screen near you. Some day. Apparently, the film will be one of, if not the first Marvel film for Disney.

Release date: TBA

Deadline reports “Saw” director James Wan is now attatched to “Nightfall,” the Plantinum graphic novel written by Scott O. Brown with art by Ferran Xalabarder. Deadline describes the premise as this: “a man is sentenced to time in a prison run by vampires.”

Release date: TBA

Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings tell MTV News about grounded characters and sequel possibilities:

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

Joss Whedon tells the Sydney Morning Herald a little bit about the writing process for the film. “Right now I’m working on a movie that’s got enormous stipulations and is going to be changing and fluid every second. I’ve come up with dozens of scenes and lines and exchanges and monologues that I adore that are not going to be in it,” says Whedon, “But while I’m writing them they feed me, excite me and they ultimately inform the character. It all goes in.” The article mainly focuses on the many challenges Whedon has faced the last five years or so, but he says those challenges are good for the creative spirit. “There’s something about having restrictions that does make you want to be sly about how you come at something. I do think that fighting against something, if it’s a real creative collaboration, the frisson between what the artist is trying to get out there and what the market place expects, creates very exciting entertainment.”

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

As the film is just coming out in the UK and Ireland, Edgar Wright has posted a little DVD Sneak peak on his website:

The animation was done by Wright’s brother Oscar and illustrates the physics of the Matthew Patel fight.

Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: August 13th 2010

According to Ain’t It Cool News, James Masters is joining the pilot as “the team’s leader.” They also offer some character description for the previously announced Stephanie Jacobsen and Naoko Mori. The former will play “a hot girl who can shape the emotions of others” while the later will play someone who can “reproduce any sound.”

Airdate: TBA

Robert Kirkman tells MTV News about writing the early parts of his series again for television:

Premieres: Halloween

So, they kept my car overnight because they needed to order a part, so I’m landlocked for the day. I suppose that means more games or, perhaps, reading some comics. Yes, I know, that’s a shocking thought, but it might just happen. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know!
