Coming up with a superhero name these days isn't easy, and simply adding "man" or "woman" to the end of a word just won't cut it these days. Mark Grayson, the protagonist in the upcoming Amazon animated show Invincible, struggled with his crime-stopping moniker way back in his first solo outing.

In Invincible #1 by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Bill Crabtree, Mark discovers that he has developed the same superpowers as his father, the heroic Omni-Man, while attempting to throw some trash away and hurling it into the stratosphere. Determined to test out his new powers, he begins flying around in a makeshift costume made up of an orange sweater and boots, blue tracksuit pants, goggles, gloves and a yellow bandanna covering the lower part of his face. He stumbles across three criminals attempting to evade capture and puts a stop to them.

After the fight, his father takes him to see family friend Art Rosenbaum, a creator of superhero costumes. He gives Mark an outfit that was originally designed for Omni-Man, a bright orange and yellow one-piece with solar discs all over it. Mark isn't sold, believing it not to be "iconic" enough. Art tells him that the issue is that he doesn't have a hero name yet and that Mark should come back to him when he has one so that they can build a suit around that.

The next day at school, a bully is picking on a student next to Mark's locker, and he steps up to defend him. The bully shoves Mark slightly, to which he responds by forcing him into the lockers, denting them and telling him to not mess with the other student again. Unfortunately, he is caught by a dinner lady and is sent to the principles office. While he's there, the principal tells him that he actually condones him standing up to the bully, but should've instead got the attention of a teacher or security guard. He then tells him it isn't Mark's responsibility to protect the students, finishing by saying, "You're not invincible, you know".

Sometime after that, a group of criminals thinks they've gotten away with a robbery. They make off with the money and run into an alleyway where their getaway car awaits. Before they can get there, they see their driver running towards them, and as they turn the corner, they see Mark in a new suit flying above them and holding their truck. His costume is now a black one-piece, with blue boots and yellow finger-less gloves. On his chest and torso is a big yellow "i", and the dot at the top continues up around his head with only his hair and mouth showing, and has a blue backdrop that circles around his neck. The criminals threaten him at gunpoint, to which he responds "I wouldn't try that...I'm Invincible".

The "i" on his chest may stand for Invincible, but it could very well mean iconic, or even due to its similarity to the comic company's logo, Image.

Either way, this costume has now become instantly recognizable to many comic fans, and will only grow in popularity once the Amazon series drops.
