WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Invaders #10 by Chip Zdarsky, Carlos Magno, Butch Guice, Alex Guimarães and VC's Travis Lanham, on sale Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Captain America, Winter Soldier and Namor were once a part of the World War II-era fighting team known as the Invaders. Even though they have all gone their separate ways over the years, a bond has remained between the trio to this day. They have all been members of the Avengers, while Namor has also joined the ranks of the X-Men as one of Marvel's first active mutants.

However, the relationship between the Invaders is now a lot icier. Avengers has shown Namor attack the surface world to protect his kingdom of Atlantis, utilizing his Defenders of the Deep. He has only escalated his efforts in the Invaders miniseries, with the comic flashing back to better days when all of the Invaders still got along.

Captain America and the Winter Soldier, along with their fellow Invaders teammate Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch, have tried their best to stop Namor from raging war with the surface world. Namor's latest attack involves a chemical weapon that turns humans into water-breathers. Avengers chairman Black Panther has tried to find a solution to reverse the weapon's effects, to no avail.

Now, Cap and Bucky have been left with no choice but to use the weapon on themselves, in order to gain the ability to breathe underwater and face Namor on his home turf of Atlantis.

A preview of this week's Invaders #10 reveals a blue-skinned Captain America and Winter Soldier swimming into Atlantis. The two longtime friends and battle partners are basically going undercover to infiltrate Atlantis in order to get close to Namor. A fake story given to a guard is all it takes to be granted access to the underwater city.

One unfortunate part of the plan for Bucky is he can't swim into Atlantis with his metal arm. Surely, the red star on the shoulder would tip guards off to his true identity, blowing their cover. But before the go to find Namor, Captain America wants to find a man who has been tortured. When the Winter Soldier protests about risking the mission to save one man, Cap reminds his former sidekick that saving everyone is the mission.

Hopefully, Invaders #10 features a two-on-one fight between the Atlantean Captain America and Winter Soldier against Namor, King of Atlantis.
