New Inuyasha, Maison Ikkoku and Ranma 1/2 images from the upcoming official Rumiko Takahashi cosplay book have been released.

As revealed by Mantan Web, the cosplay photos star Japan's highest-paid professional cosplayer, Enako. The newly released pictures showcase Enako's take on Inuyasha's central protagonist, Kagome, as well as Ranma Saotome's female transformation and Maison Ikkoku's Kyoko Otonashi. A new image of the cosplayer in Lum's standard outfit, a tiger-stripe bikini, was also released. The producers of the book previously showcased the photobook's cover image, which also features Enako cosplaying as the Urusei Yatsura character.

The new book is being produced as an official collaboration between Enako and the creator of all of those manga series, the legendary Rumiko Takahashi. The book will see the popular cosplayer taking on the roles of numerous characters from several of Takahashi's most popular series. The cosplayer will also be seen as a new character, which Takahashi designed specifically for Enako to portray. The cosplay photobook, entitled Cosmic World, is scheduled to be released in Japan next September.

The book will be released about a month ahead of the Japanese premiere of the Urusei Yatsura reboot, which is being produced by Jojo's Bizarre Adventure studio David Production. The latest adaptation of Takahashi's highly influential sci-fi rom-com is being directed by Hideya Takahashi (Platinum End) and Yasuhiro Kimura, who directed Jojo's Golden Wind season. The new show is planned to run for four seasons and will adapt select stories from the original manga, which ran from 1978 – 1987.

Enako is a 27-year old model and streamer who has become one of Japan's most popular professional cosplayers. It has been reported that she makes over $90,000 USD a month through her paid appearances at anime conventions and other events.

Takahashi, meanwhile, needs no introduction: the award-winning manga author has created several of the most popular anime series of all time, including the previously mentioned Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha. She was inducted into the Eisner Hall of Fame in 2018 and officially recognized by the Japanese government with an award for her contributions to the country's arts and culture. She remains active to this day, and is currently working on her latest manga series, the dark-fantasy adventure Mao, which began publication in 2019.

A release outside of Japan for the photobook has not been announced. Many of Takahashi's manga, including Inuyasha and Mao, are available in English from publisher VIZ Media.
