With the award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse now available on digital HD, Sony has posted the first nine minutes of the animated film online to help promote the home video release.

Available to stream on Sony Pictures Entertainment's official YouTube channel, the opening to the film shows a typical Brooklyn morning in the life of protagonist Miles Morales.

The intro to the film also features a brief introduction to this universe's Peter Parker, already an accomplished webslinging superhero in his own right, with subtle nods to previous incarnations of the character.

This past weekend, the film earned the Academy Award for Best Animated Film while the studio made the innovative software used to animate the film free and open source online as well.
