Following its release this past December, Sony Pictures Animation's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has received widespread acclaim from from fans and critics alike, not to mention several prestigious awards. This incredible amount of traction has now culminated in the film taking home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards. However, while in our universe is was the film's directors, producers and stars who accepted the honor at the Oscars, in Into the Spider-Verse's world, it was the masked heroes themselves who took the stage. A new piece of art released by Sony on social media features Miles Morales/Spider-Man, Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman proudly accepting the coveted award.RELATED: Into the Spider-Verse's Peter Parker Dresses Down for Oscars Red Carpet

The image is accompanied by a caption that reads, "There's a hero in all of use, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you to the Academy for recognizing the incredible team behind Spider-Verse."

Of course, this artwork evokes memories of a piece previously released by Sony earlier this year of Miles Morales accepting the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film. Given just how prestigious the Oscars are in the film industry, however, it only stands to reason that this time around, the film's three biggest on-screen stars accepted the award together.
