Into the Spider-Verse: You Definitely Missed Stan Lee's Second Cameo

Stan Lee Into the Spider-Verse

If you think that you've seen all of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's Easter eggs, you're probably wrong. While celebrating the film's upcoming home release, animator Nick Kondo casually revealed that there are actually two Stan Lee cameos.

During the film's closing sequence, Miles Morales gets his own version of a scene that Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy got when they first appeared in the movie: "Okay, let's do this one last time." As Miles gets a spectacular web-swinging montage, he runs along the side of a subway car -- and one of the passengers turns out to be Stan Lee. Earlier in the film, following the death of his Peter, Miles also bought a Spider-Man costume from Lee.

On Twitter, Kondo released a video that slowed down the sequence, so eagle-eyed viewers can see that Stan gets to watch his creation's successor fully step into his heroic identity. What's more, Lee appears to be making the "thwip" hand motion that Spider-Man makes to shoot web fluid.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse comes to home release on Blu-Ray, UltraHD, 4K and DVD on March 19.
